My approach to working together…

I am a qualified counsellor and work in an integrative and creative way. My aim is to help build a therapeutic relationship and provide an environment, where you feel safe and comfortable to openly share your concerns without the fear of being criticised or judged.

Whatever your concerns if they matter to you, they are valid and they matter.

Everyone is different and I will adapt the way I work to suit you as an individual. We will work at a pace that suits you, whilst I encourage you to explore your thoughts and feelings. At no time will you be pressured or rushed to discuss anything, until you feel comfortable and ready.

We are all work in progress

What to expect?

Our first session will be longer than the usual 60 minutes to allow for the completion of a brief assessment. We will go through the contract which will be emailed to you before we start.  After completing the paperwork, the session is yours and we will start where you would like to begin.

Counselling can bring up lots of different emotions and feelings.  Some weeks we may find ourselves laughing, others might be difficult and you may find it quite tough going.

It is not unusual to feel you are making progress one week and going backwards the next. Progress is a process and the temptation to end counselling may be strong after a difficult session but we can always talk this through.
